Fast and easy online tool advice!
This high-end engineering application allows you to make an online decision about which pressbrake tools are best suited to your specific bending needs.
The Tool Advisor can be used in two ways: to deal with a specific bending issue or to immediately design a special tool.

Starting with the Tool Advisor in just a few steps:

Draw your profile

Draw your own profile by simply clicking and dragging on the canvas.

Receive tool advice

Based on the drawn profile, properties and selected machine the Tool Advisor will calculate tool advice for you.

Customize your tool

Has the selected tool any collisions with the drawn profile? No problem, simply customize the properties of the tool, or let the Tool Advisor create your special.

Select a machine and specify profile properties

The selected machine will be taken into account to generate the best appropriate tool advice for your bending issue. In case that you don't have machine information, the default machine will allow you to use the Tool Advisor. Please see Bending Information for more details. You are also able to add your machine to the My Equipment section.

Before you start drawing your profile you are able to specify the material and the sheet thickness of the project you are working on.

Both the machine and profile properties can be adjusted on the 'Draw your profile' page and influence the tool advice.

Draw your profile

To begin drawing your profile, click and drag the blue button in the center of the canvas until the flange broadly has the desired length. From this point on, you can add new flanges on either side of the flange you just placed.

Your profile is also presented as a 'flat pattern' which shows your profile in unbend condition.
You can zoom in or out by scrolling in the canvas and you can pan using the mouse and drag in the canvas.

Change flange and/or bend values

You can draw the profile in more detail by selecting a flange or bend and specify values for the bend or flange in the profile section on the right side of the page. In this section you are also able to view the default bending process values and, if desired, override these defaults. Please see Bending Information for more details.

If you wish to undo an action or just start again, you can press the 'Undo' or 'Reset' button in the upper left corner.

Satisfied with the result? Press the 'next' button in the lower right of the screen. An overview will pop-up with all of your previous actions including your drawn profile. Important to note: advice will be calculated based on your last selected bend (this is called the critical bend).

Which WILA New Standard Premium tools suit your project?

The tool advice that is presented on this page is based on your profile and the information from My Equipment. The tools are sorted on versatility by default, but can also be sorted based on price or loadability. Tools that you have added to My Equipment are marked with a blue flag
and tools that do not combine with an already selected tool are marked with a red exclamation sign
. Your drawn profile can be presented in three bending stages: normal, pressed and unfolded.

Red circles mark collisions at the section (and bending stage) where your profile interferes with a punch or die. If no standard tools are available for you profile, you can start customizing a standard tool on the next page. If there are no collisions present, you can start filling the desired length and receiving prices on the next page.

* In case that you use the Tool Advisor starting from 'Design a tool', you can start with selecting the desired punch or die on this page.

Create a tool that suits your profile

To remove collisions from a tool you can start customizing it. This can be done in two ways, either manually or by using the Smart Solve button. After clicking the Smart Solve button the Tool Advisor will automatically search for a best way to customize the tool.

If you would like to customize the tool manually you can use the variables on the right side of the screen. The ones that are presented are the ones that most likely will allow you to find a solution for the collision. You can find other variables under 'show more options'. The Tool Advisor will warn you if you encounter a geometric constraint or a maximum or minimum value for a variable, so do not hesitate to try and customize it, to find a solution for your profile. For more information regarding tool properties, see the Tooling Information page.

When a solution is found and you are satisfied with it, you can start filling the desired length and receive prices on the next page.

* In case that you use the Tool Advisor starting from 'Design a tool', you can start customizing the selected punch or die on this page.

Select length and calculate prices

If you are satisfied with the selected (customized) tools, you can finish the project. You can select your desired length and receive prices immediately. On the next page you will see an overview of your project, including your drawn profile and selected (customized) tools.

You can finish your project by adding the products to the shopping cart. You can order the products from the shopping cart in the webshop or create a quote of your shopping cart.
Please take notice of the (default) process values that are applied to your profile. Together with the selected critical bend, these are shown in the Profile menu on this page. See Bending Information for more information.

Finished projects, as well as projects you are still working on, can be found in the My Projects menu in the webshop.
